A program of traditional Chinese classical music, introduced by Charles Amirkhanian. It was recorded as a live concert given on December 1, 1972 at 1750 Arch St. in Berkeley California, and is one of the earliest live broadcasts from 1750 Arch, in what was to be a long running series on KPFA. The Ensemble is led by Betty and Shirley Wong, and is composed of San Francisco Bay Area performers. After the music Charles talks with Betty and Shirley Wong, and Winston Wu about the ensemble and the response that this type of music typically gets from Western audiences. |
