Charles Amirkhanian introduces the American pianist Richard Bunger who has written a book titled “The Well Prepared Piano” and has released a fine album of new music for prepared and unprepared piano on Avant (AV 1008). Bunger plays music by John Cage, Henry Cowell, Harold Budd, and E. T. Bunger also gives a very complete demonstration on how to prepare the piano for a performance of “A Valentine Out of Season” by John Cage, and then performs the entire piece. |
