Recorded in the Summer of 1969 by ethnomusicologist Martin Koenig and submitted to KPFA’s World Ear Project, this tape captures a conversation between two cattle herders and a woman, in the village of Ruski Krstur in Yugoslavia (now Serbia). The three are speaking in the language of the Rusyn, a sizable ethnic minority within the Vojvodina district of Yugoslavia.
