|
| Item Type: Sound Recording |
Duration: 128 min |
| Event Type: Spoken Word |
Program Origin: KPFA |
Amirkhanian talks with the pioneering Swedish composer Lars-Gunnar Bodin. As member of the avant-garde Fylkingen Society starting in 1962, and as Director of the famous Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm, Bodin played a pivotal role in the advancement of electronic music, sound poetry, and inter-media art in Sweden, Europe, and indeed the whole world. The festivals of text-sound compositions that he helped organize in the 1970s were instrumental in helping this emerging art form gain acceptance among the avant-garde composers of the 20th century. This program includes several experimental compositions by Bodin and others as well as a demonstration of a computer mix-down technique utilized by Bodin. |
