This program consists of a panel discussion on the subject of the firing of the two co-directors of the Mills College Tape Music Center (Anthony Gnazzo and Lowell Cross). KPFA Music Director Howard Hersh interviews Gnazzo, Cross, and composers Eugene Turitz, Alden Jenks, Ann Kish, and student representative Susan Lynch about the action of the College. The College was offered time to respond but declined. This poignant discussion pits the intention of the original San Francisco Tape Music Center to be an open and public/private R & D organization against the College's desire to keep the newly acquired facility private for its students. |
