Peter Yates continues his series of programs devoted to the music of Harry Partch. In this, the third of the series we hear a complete performance of Partch’s ballet, “The Bewitched, a dance satire”. Partch is perhaps best known for his compositions utilizing a 43 note scale and performed on his collection of hand made instruments. However many of his works were also theatrical in nature, calling for dancers or actors as well as musicians. |
