MOCA/FM: Sound Art from the Museum of Conceptual Art |
|
| Item Type: Sound Recording |
Duration: 35 min |
| Event Type: Spoken Word |
Program Origin: KPFA |
The Museum of Conceptual Art (MOCA), San Francisco, presents an exhibition for radio by 26 artists, each of whom had been asked to do produce pieces of about sixty seconds duration. Produced by Tom Marioni, director of MOCA, these brief conceptual sound pieces, created by a variety of artists, sculptors, and musicians range from rather conventional jazz music and poetry to downright bizarre examples of text sound compositions and quasi ambient sound recordings. As with all the programs produced by MOCA and which can be heard on www.radiOM.org, the barrier between art and life is defined, explored, and often punctured, and should be enjoyed with one’s tongue firmly planted in one’s cheek. |
