New musical releases of 1983

Charles Amirkhanian introduces several remarkable 1983 LP's as well as an old classic from 1979. First up is “Life is a Killer” featuring mostly rock music pieces by poets, including Amiri Baraka, William S. Burroughs, Jim Carroll, Jayne Cortez, John Giorno, Brion Gysin, Rose Lesniak, and Ned Sublette. Next is “Machine Guitars” by Dutch composer Remko Scha, who plays electric guitars with saber saws, ropes and flexible metal rods. The third featured LP is “Piano Solo, Vol. 1” with Galeshka Moravioff a Russian composer and pianist. Finally it is Trans the trio of Anne LeBaron, Davey Williams, and LaDonna Smith (Birmingham, Alabama) performing on their LP “Trans Museq 3” (1979). A fifth record, the 7”, 45 rpm disc “Uh-Oh Plutonium!” by Anne Waldman is also heard.
