Vietnam Hamburger by David Berry

Listen
Item Type: Sound Recording Duration: 8 min

This is a chillingly evocative musique concrète composition featuring live battle recordings of a variety of machine gun and artillery sounds mixed with feedback and a Moog Synthesizer on a multi-track recorder. This is one of many anti-war pieces produced by David Berry while at Mills College in Oakland CA, during the Vietnam War. Some of the sounds heard include those of a Gatling gun, 30mm caliber machine gun, 20mm automatic, 20mm vulcan aircraft cannon, and a 75mm cannon.
