Music by Three Polish Composers

A selection of 20th century classical works by three Polish composers. The first piece “Intonazioni I” by Edward Boguslawski, is scored for nine instruments and is performed here by members of the Silesian Philharmonic under the direction of Karol Stryja. This is followed by Tadeusz Baird’s “Four Dialogues,” for oboe and chamber orchestra, featuring soloist Lothar Faber and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, and possibly conducted by Witold Rowicki. The last work on this program is the Symphony No. 3 by Bolesław Woytowicz. This is a piano concertante, and features the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Jan Krenz and may include the composer as the piano soloist.
