Originally from a 1955 broadcast in Cairo Egypt, the United States Air Force Symphony Orchestra performs Radie Britain’s 1928 composition, “Prelude to a Drama.” Originally titled “Overture to Pygmalion” this orchestral work received it world premiere in 1938 when it was performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Frederick Stock. In this 1955 performance the U. S. Air Force symphony is conducted by Colonel George S. Howard.
