This is a fine example of early electronic music that makes use of many the techniques then available including extensive panning between the left and right channels. It was the third in a series of studies in motion for dancers by electronic music composer, Anthony Gnazzo. The sound material used for this piece is the same as that used of Study No. 2 (composed in Dec. 1965), but with a number of rearrangements and transpositions. The entire series of studies was done for the dancer Judith Jacobs. Alternate performance variations can be made by playing simultaneously with copies at different speeds. Composed by Anthony Gnazzo at the University of Toronto Electronic Music Studio, (Feb. 1966). |
