Stereochemistry, June 25, 1990

Listen
Item Type: Sound Recording Duration: 61 min
Event Type: Interview and Music Program Origin: KPFA

Richard Povall introduces a program of obscure, noncommercial music by young composers. The genres represented range from the country twang of David Mahler’s “Elvis Is Watching You”, to the contemplative clarinet found in Ken Steen’s, “Heal the Wounds of War”, to the musique concrète travelogue of Doug Khan, to the jazzy “Pachelbel’s Nightmare” by Steve Bissinger, to the electronic music of Ed Osborne. All together it is an eclectic romp through the new and experimental music of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
