Recorded on April 23, 1987 as part of the San Francisco Exploratorium’s Speaking of Music series, Charles Amirkhanian interviews Lois V. Vierk before a live audience. Composer Lois V. Vierk uses multiples of the same instrument to create throbbing sheets of textural sound which develop in time according to her system of "exponential structure." Accordionist Guy Klucevsek plays her “Manhattan Cascade” for four accordions (1984). Other music includes “Dark Bourn” for four bassoons and four celli (1985) and “Go Guitars” for five electric guitars (1981). |
