After 12 minutes of faux introductions, the proceedings migrate to actual stimulating performances which are often humorous and always very interesting and enjoyable. Amirkhanian and Gnazzo collaborated on a number of such shows at KPFA, many of which are now available on, and are highly recommended to anybody interested in the history of avant-garde sound poetry or simply in search of ideas on how to get the most out of their sound editing software. The series of events, which included a selection of films, a radio broadcast, and a live performance, was sponsored by Other Minds, and held in San Francisco from September 15 - 17, 2011. The last day featured live performances of a selection of iconic Fluxus works by some of its founding and/or more famous artists. The evening began with George Brecht’s “Solo for Contrabass” in which a string bass is polished on stage. The second concert - Lou Harrison Gamelan Masterpieces - was held on May 20th, to a capacity audience of 800 people.
