81. radiOM.org - William Panda with Back Mark to Martyre [0.126% Popularity: 0.00000]
William Panda with Back Mark to Martyre Listen Item Type: Sound Recording Duration: 74 min Event Type: Spoken Word Program Origin: KPFA Additional Media Files (click to view) A series of collaborative text-sound pieces by Charles Amirkhanian and Anthony Gnazzo, performed by the composers. After 12 minutes of faux introductions, the proceedings migrate to actual stimulating performances which are often humorous and always very interesting and enjoyable. Amirkhanian and Gnazzo collaborated on a number of such shows at KPFA, many of which are now available on radiOM.org, and are highly recommended to anybody interested in the history of avant-garde sound poetry or simply in search of ideas on how to get the most out of their sound editing software. The fact that these works were created before such technology was widely available makes them all the more impressive. This program has sensitive language. We hope you are a sensitive listener. Part 1 of 2: Musical Selections: The Alphabet -- Intro [takes 1-4] -- [fil...

The series of events, which included a selection of films, a radio broadcast, and a live performance, was sponsored by Other Minds, and held in San Francisco from September 15 - 17, 2011. The last day featured live performances of a selection of iconic Fluxus works by some of its founding and/or more famous artists. The evening began with George Brecht’s “Solo for Contrabass” in which a string bass is polished on stage. This was followed by Yoshi Wada’s “Yoshi’s Sound Store” in which various auditory events were presented for potential sale. After the intermission Dick Higgins’ brief but arresting “Danger Music No. 17” was presented, followed by a rather le...
